Celebrities in Custom Sweatshirts
A celebrity’s fashion sense is always being attacked, and it seems paparazzi can’t snap a picture of an artist, actor, or model without snagging some words about what they are wearing. Whether it is the “in thing,” a “plain Jane” thing, the next big thing or something completely out of the box, we are obsessed with what celebrities are wearing. Fortunately, we see enough of them in magazines and on TV to get an idea of what WE should be, or at least want to be, wearing. But celebrity fashion doesn’t always have to be glamorous or outrageous like a Madonna and Lady Gaga.
More often than not, we see the simpler side of celebrity fashion with getups from actors like Hayden Panettiere and Vanessa Hudgens, and artists like Katy Perry and Rihanna. Whether it is custom sweatshirts
or Levi’s jeans, they exhibit a humanizing factor in celebrities by portraying themselves in everyday situations as everyday people. Perhaps it is just the mega celebrities that go all out and dress like a weirdo 24 hours a day like Lady Gaga, but still, the vast majority can be found in normal clothes like any of us. So, what is the big deal with celebrity fashion then?
Often times, the “fashion” we are talking about is the person’s dress attire. They have to keep up an image as a celebrity, and it could just be that we all want to create images for ourselves as celebrities. We associate the fancy close we see them dressed up in with the fame and the wealth, when in reality, they aren’t very different from your “dinner out” outfits and many of the outfits you see the celebrities wearing are borrowed or rented to promote the designer. When an artist is being interviewed and they start dropping names, we pick them up and the designer gets credit and recognition, so it is in the designer’s interest to lend to the big names like Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson.
No matter what the celebs are wearing, we should all be expressing ourselves everyday in what we wear. Whether it be expressing how cold we are feeling with custom sweatshirts
and long pants, or how unique we are feeling with a gown made of Kermit the Frog dolls, we must not imitate but only become inspired by these brilliant stars and learn to shine on our own.
